[May 06] |
I have some rather exciting news to share about a project Madog, Nora and myself have been working on for the last month and a bit, and that is this:
We've decided to hold a Quidditch camp for children during the week of 6th June-12th June. It will be open to all children ages 5 to 11. They'll be split up into age groups, and will learn the very basics about what we do and basically just get to have fun with us. And yes, safety measures will be in place. Unfortunately for those adventure-seeking children out there, this won't be quite like a real match at all. It'll be fairly tame, actually, but don't tell them that.
So, if you have a child who would be interested, or know one, please send an owl to myself (Kamal Nehru), Nora Alderton or Madog MacDougal and we'll send more information your way. I know I'm really excited about being able to give back more to the community.

In case anyone was wondering: I'm no longer at St Mungo's (haven't been for a few days now), and I'll be fine. I'm one of the lucky ones.
Warded Private:
I don't know if I could ever talk about this with Gwen, not when her grandfather is a vampire. I don't know if she would understand. I don't even know if I can explain this properly, not even to myself, let alone to anyone else.
It is one thing to say that not all vampires are the same, but after what happened, I don't know how to look at one and not feel instantly transported back to that night. I have to try, but I don't know how.
Warded to Nora:
Can I ask you something?

[February 16] |
After some divine inspiration (in the form of Miss Turpin), my brother brought home a rabbit on Saturday. I would introduce him, but he does not have a name yet. We did take a photograph, however.
( photo! )
We can't seem to agree on a name, so I thought I would turn to everyone here for suggestions. Any and all suggestions are welcome.
And here's to a very happy birthday to two of my best friends, Caoimhe and Doyle.

What are you doing on Sunday?

Of course my sister would have her babies on a day I had a match. Of course it would happen during the match, so I wouldn't even find out until after.
I'm an uncle again! Times two this time.
The twins - both girls! - were a little bit early, but both are completely healthy. The last few weeks have been rough on my sister, so the fact that she was able to hold on until the end of the month was a good thing. Parvati and Padma. I think I'm their favourite already.
And we won today too. Could today get any better? I don't think so.

[December 26] |
Deshan, Ulhas and I revealed our big surprise to Amala yesterday and... as I expected, she cried. We'd been working on the nursery for the twins for a while now, and somehow managed to finish by Christmas for the big reveal. I know more about interior decorating than I ever wanted to know, but I think it was worth it.
Christmas was never a big event for us when I was young, but once we moved here, it became one of the many Western traditions we incorporated. Still not quite as big as some of our other holidays, but I always got a kick out of it.
Happy holidays, everyone.
Warded to Caoimhe:
Have you managed to talk Doyle into coming to Quinn & Marion's tomorrow?
Warded to Gwen:
Please accept my apologies for not being more in touch over the last few weeks. It isn't like me. How was your Christmas? And I was wondering... if you had any plans for New Year's?

Unsurprisingly? I know the Magpies are the best in the league right now, but unsurprisingly? That makes it sound like no one thought we would put up a fight, like we're the Canno and that's simply not true.
I turned the wireless off after that. How difficult would it have been to simply say "Puddlemere United was defeated by the Montrose Magpies"? Sometimes I really hate the me
